The world of medicine can be a scary, confusing, and sometimes overwhelming experience for many people. As a practicing OB/GYN of nearly 15 years, it has been my intention to relieve some of this anxiety for patients, when caring for them. I do my best to create a calm, relaxed approach, and work hard to assure that patients really understand their conditions/concerns. My motto has always been… treat every patient like a sister or friend…and in jest, have coined this, the ‘Girlfriend’s Approach to Gynecology’.
Our practice, Eastside Gynecology and Obstetrics, is a group of 9 physicians and 2 midwives that ascribe to that similar approach. We understand that competency and skill are expected from your medical provider, but that a compassionate experience, with a personable touch, is what patients are searching for.
Our busy and compressed lives leave little time to ask, let alone, get our questions answered. Many people turn to the internet for their answers. Let’s face it, there’s a wealth of medical information available on the internet. But consumers are expected to interpret and decipher the information on their own. We want to become a mediator between you, and the information…providing a medically sound voice to help you decipher this information… in the area of Women’s Reproductive Health.
The purpose of our blog is to share this approach with you. We hope to educate and inform you on current topics in the fields of Obstetrics & Gynecology, in an understandable, conversational and personal manner. To meet the needs of all of our fast-paced lives…we’ll meet you with frequent posts and discussions to satisfy the demands of today’s modern, busy people. Expect to find relevant medical information from our credentialed medical providers… mixed with professional opinion…maybe some humor…and hopefully…some… just down-right ‘doctors with personality’!
